Checkatrade Let Us Down

We were totally reliant on Checkatrade to find us a reliable tradesperson for our repair job. We registered and posted our project details, but unfortunately, we were left in the lurch.

  • To make matters even worse, their helpline was absolutely hopeless.

We are very disappointed with Checkatrade and would urge using their services. There are plenty of alternatives out there. We are saddened by having wasted our time on this disappointing service.

We trusted Checkatrade to connect us with competent tradespeople. Little did we know we were walking into a shambles.

After/Upon/Following hiring a plumber/electrician/carpenter from their platform, we ended up with a shoddy/subpar/messy job that cost us a fortune/ dearly/ an arm and a leg. Checkatrade's response/customer service/support has been dismissive/useless/unhelpful, leaving us feeling frustrated/angry/betrayed.

It's clear to us that Checkatrade favors their own profits over the well-being/satisfaction/rights of customers. We demand/request/urge fair compensation/justice/accountability for this injustice/wrongdoing/terrible experience.

It all starts with their sneaky costs, which they hide in the small stuff. Then, there's the terrible support that's about as useful as a chocolate teapot. You can try to raise an issue, but it's like more info talking to a wall.

Is Checkatrade a Scam?

We thought we were doing the right choice by using Checkatrade to find a reputable plumber/electrician/contractor. After all, they seemed so legitimate with their vetted traders. Boy, were we wrong! Our experience was nothing short of a disaster.

Then, the response from the "qualified" trader was lackluster/awful/terrible. He was unprofessional/rude/disrespectful and provided a quote that was outrageous/ridiculous/way too high. We tried to resolve the issues, but he was adamant/unwilling/stubborn to compromise/negotiate/change.

In the end, we ended up having to hire someone else by this so-called "vetted" trader. Checkatrade's helpline was equally useless/incompetent/unhelpful. They offered us a pathetic excuse/blamed the trader/did nothing.

We're left feeling angry and warn everyone against using them for your tradesman needs.

We Paid, But Never Saw the Work: Checkatrade Fail.

My rundown with Checkatrade was a complete shambles. I booked a trader through their service to handle some essential home repairs. They seemed reliable at first, but it ended up a horrendous ordeal.

Despite I transferred the full amount upfront, the work was never done. Getting a response ceased. It's been a truly agonizing period, and I'm still left with a gaping hole where my sense of security once was.

Checkatrade has been beyond frustrating throughout this whole process. They provided empty promises. It feels like I've been robbed.
